Re: Lipfern/ Trilliums

Hello Gerry,
The Trilliums listed in my catalog come from many sources. Some are seed
grown, and more are being added to that section as time goes by. Takes a looooong
time to come up with a trillium from seed. A few are, on occasion, from division.
This year one is from tissue culture. Again, more will be coming in the future
from this source as the technique matures. Others are from wholesalers with CITES
permits to collect from private and federal land.
This last one is a big can of worms with advocates on both sides of the fence
and all are very passionate about their positions. As I state in my catalog and
web site, it is the only method for obtaining a mature trillium, along with
division. You could not, or probably would not, pay the price for the number of
years required to obtain a fully mature trillium.
Can you advise your friend who studies the matting habits of the snail that
there is a Playboy channel on cable?
