Hi, Donna.  I was thinking that the cat-tail wouldn't get so large and
vigorous in your area, since it wouldn't get a proper freeze.  I don't
remember ever seeing cat-tails in the south.  Do they grow naturally down
there?  I wonder if you would have to 'restart' the plant from roots each
spring in your area.
