Didn't get the bulbs planted
Here in southern Minnesota, I have purchased bulbs and then not gotten them
planted before the snow came. When it is a small number I have wrapped them in
a brown paper bag (so they were in the dark)and put them in the refrigerator
(veggie bin). I then planted as soon as I could in the spring. They did bloom
a lot later than the others, but it does work.
About 10 years ago I had a huge order (maybe 500 bulbs) sent late - like mid
November. I thought about sending them back since the ground was frozen, but
instead I talked my local floral place into storing them in their walk-in
cooler. When planted them in the spring and almost all bloomed.
Since having this experience, I have bought close out/mark down bulbs after
the ground has frozen or the snow has covered the ground. Almost all will
bloom if they go through the dark and cool down in my refrigerator.
I wouldn't throw out the frozen bulbs, but I think they might turn to mush when
they are thawed. I would wrap them and put them your refrigerator and check
them in a few weeks to see if they are okay.
