Easy to remember: 30 cm./l foot, this is roughly speaking, three times that
about a yard. Whilst reading the Brit magazines it becomes familar to you.
You can use a felt marker to put the formulas on the cover of the magazine
and it suddenly becomes clear. All of those magazines deal with plants around
UDSA zones 7 and 8.

A better one is the BBC Gardener's World. This is fat publication with a lot
information on all types of gardening. It is usually in the large bookstores
here, B&N and Borders. This one is fun to read as well as quite
authoritative on pruning and propagation. There are many pix, all color.

If there is an issue that interests it is worth buying one now and then. A
different slant on garden topics is a "good thing".

The BBC Gardener's World has a webpage with some of the articles.
