Alan,

Don't know squat about gardening in your region, but here are a few
links that might provide you with some info:

Arid Southwestern Gardening Information
http://ag.arizona.edu/gardening/

Desert Botanical Garden GOOD GARDENING GUIDES
http://www.dbg.org/5/infosht.html#RECOMMENDED PLANTS FOR DESERT

Philippe and Sura's Phoenix Tropical Gardens - also have a forum from
what their homepage says.
http://www.desert-tropicals.com/

There's a Xeriscaping & Southwestern Gardening forum on garden.web.
A search brought up a post that said Cyclamen had done well for a
couple of years in an Arizona garden and another that said about any
tropical, low light house plant should do well? Well...if you can't
find answers on the web, or someone who actually knows something
about it on this list pots, someone there might have a suggestion.
