heuchera/improving the soil

Others, because
>of the way they grow, need continual dividing to remain vigorous -
>think of Heuchera

Marge, thank you for your very informative post. I'll have to print it out
and save it to reread several times.
I have a few heuchera that are doing okay, but I think now that I should
divide them. It's been a few years. Have any of you heard of a variety
called "Royal Red"? I bought it in a nursery a few years ago, thinking it
was "Purple Palace," then read the tag when I got home. I think I like it
better. The leaves almost glow when the sun is right. Something that really
impressed me once was the trial garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden; there
must have been a hundred variety of purple-leaf coral bells. I'm hooked!
