Re: a test Frozen plants

Hello Frank,
We did out usual jump from almost summer weather one day to below
freezing the next. I, too, have a lot of plants in bud and a few in bloom.
Probably will loose the fully opened blooms. To help the buds survive to
come out another day, I will placing al my outside Christmas decorations to
use.
As the pine and cedar rope, wreaths, come down I am clipping the wires
out so that they fall apart. Then the small limbs are used as an open ground
cover over my hellebores and cyclamen, a few other plants. Keeps the sun
off of the foliage while the ground is frozen, some of the wind away from
the foliage. I find that it does help.
