.I had tried to grow blueberries here so long ago that I don't remember
what went wrong (several times). But when I was at the nursery yesterday
finding out that I was two months too late in dealing with the various
problems
of my apple tree, the person said I should consider growing these new
southern
blueberries which were adapted to part shade, coastal conditions.
I live in central coast California, less than half a mile from the beach,
not
as foggy as that sounds because of the topology of the Bay -- but we don't
get as much variation in temperature as most people do, and I thought
that was a problem for blueberries.
Generally I kind of just lurk here because most of the gardeners here seem
to be working with eastern or midwestern gardens and plants I never see
out here -- is there anybody out there from a similar climate to mine who
has tried these southern blueberries? I'm only recalling a couple of the
variety
names -- "Misty" and I think "Sunshine Blue" or something like that.
