Knew someone could add to my list! I wondered about Solomon's Seal, but as
mine are in a consistently moistish spot, wasn't sure they'd do well in dry
shade.  Dont'cha just love the variegated one?  It is *so* elegant IMHO.
Forgot all about cyclamen...they should do well.  I've managed to lose them
in the past and am trying again...am very fond of their flowers.  Also
wondered about the gingers.  A. canadense will droop badly if too dry, in
my experience.  I have a pretty large, old clump under a maple and a black
locust.  A. europaeum seems to stand dry, rooty places without actually
drooping...dunno how happy it is about it, tho. :-)  A. Shuttleworthii
seems happy under Rhodies, but I don't let that soil get really dry, so
don't know how it would fare.  Lovely plants, Asarum.  Interesting to know
H. . 'Erromena' is drought tolerant.  I didn't think any of the hostas were
happy in dry conditions.
