Dan,
Before resorting to potentially harmful pesticides in your greenhouse or
garden, please try the formula I have used with great success for years
now. Simply spray affected plants 2-3 times a week with a solution of:
1 gal. water
2 T. vegetable oil (I use Wesson)
2 T. Ivory Liquid
Please report to us the effectiveness of this spray for your particular
problem. I have controlled both white flies and aphids with this spray. It
kills them on contact.
Clyde,
My little Shade Garden booklet lists BLUE LUNGWORT (Pulmonaria
angustifolia) as being "zone 4". Description is "...a spreading plant that
grows 6-12 inches tall and 12-18 inches across. The 1-inch flowers, which
bloom in late spring and early summer, are blue, opening from pink buds.
The creeping roots grow rapidly but do not become overly invasive." The
picture shows many clusters of very blue flowers resting on spear-shaped
leaves. Very pretty.
