I think that the odds are almost nonexistant. Beatrice is known to be
unstable enough to give variegated seedlings, but I have heard that Frances
Williams has only had one variegated seedling resulting from the many, many
times seeds have been sown. Streaked plants do give a much higher yield. In
general, there are more variegated sports from variegated or solid color
hostas that there are from their seedlings.
