[PRIMROSES] OT Misc.

I have had a subscription to FINE GARDENING for years and years. It must
being running out because I have a renewal in the mail and it is $32.00
annually!!!!!!!

In the shops today I checked and it is $5.95 per copy. HORTICULTURE is $3.50.
Over on the hosta line we had a thread on magazines recently and many robins
felt the magazines were not delivering the goods.

For me, I have decided to drop these two and select issues individually from
Borders. There is a new one called THE ENGLISH GARDEN at $5.95 stand price
with stunning photography. This one is aimed at us as it carries USDA zones in
plant descriptions. On this list robins could call to our attention a
particularly good issue of any of the magazines,

In the mail I received Wayside Garden's Limited Edition Collectors Catalogue
(that is how they spell it. There are hellebores on the cover and they are a
special lot with veined, blotched, and spotted flowers. Ask for this and for
their rose book as well.
I got the best roses, ever, from Wayside and at competitive prices.

Best new book could be Ken Druse's THE COLLECTORS GARDEN.

Any more ideas on cold weather reading materials?

Are there any Henry Mitchell fans? A new book from his writings is coming out.

Hortus 3 is now a Barnes and Noble property. It can be purchased in soft
cover, a two volume set for a very small cost.
