Hi!
I was pleased to see this list, because I live in a "holler" in middle
Tennessee, (zone 7 I think) and we get sun from about 9:30 to 4:30 in
mid-summer. There are also large maple trees and a row of other deciduous
trees that shade the yard. I wanted roses, but, alas! they don't do well
in my yard! I have one that has survived and it is small, it's a Summer (oh
dear, I forgot the rest of the name!) with fragrant peach/yellow blossoms.
I transplanted some daylilies from up the road, and they are faring pretty
well.
My front yard (about 10 feet from the porch to the fence/road) doesn't even
grow grass well. I've put in a small bed with yellow archangel just this
fall, and another one with a nice ivy.
I have a couple ferns that have survived the winters, but most of the
collection I got is gone. Maybe the soil isn't right.
If anyone has any ideas on what kind of grass seed to put in this place, I
would be very grateful!
Have a good day.
