Hi:
I want to suggest one of my favorite perennial catalogs. You get "liners",
or small potted plants but they always do super for me. Bluestone
perennials can be contacted at 1-800-852-5243 and their catalog is free.
They're also online: http://bluestoneperennials.com/
Was just thinking last night that I'd have to call and request a copy when
it turned up in my mailbox. I feel their prices are very reasonable even if
you decide on the larger size plants.
One of the nice features is a collector's corner. Examples: Lamium pink
pewter (3 / $8.25 and Primula japonica Millers Crimson at 3 for $10.25.
Mums are as low as 6 for 6.25. One of the things that surprises me is that
their shipping charges decreases with the more that you buy. If you buy $75
and over, shipping and packing is FREE. They also have primula auricala
alpina at 3 for $8.75. I know who to call now if my seeds fail!
Another plant I am tempted by is Clethera Hummingbird (shrub actually). Has
anyone grown this? The description says only 1-2' tall which would be ideal
for a border I want to make to separate my backyard (10'x10') from my
neighbor's.
