If your plant truly is houttnyia please don't plant it in any kind of
fertile ground.  It is very invasive!  I fully agree with Alex about that!
Plant it in a pot and planter!  I am still trying to rid some areas of this
beautiful plant and I just got it two years ago.  Spreads very fast and do
not let it's going dormant fool you because it will come up anywhere in the
spring!  It does make a gorgeous potted plant and is beautiful in a window
box!
