***Hi all, and Cindy.....I have grown sylvestris from seed, and it is one of
the few annuals that remains in my garden....it is so exotic-looking, so
tall (about 4 feet), and blooms throughout the late summer and fall. I love
it...and I do get some reseeding...though not a lot, since these are planted
in a dry bed with 1/2 day of sun. If you're going to take seed from them,
you will probably have to do the cross yourself indoors...no bees to do it
for you. Take a stamen from one plant and rub the pollen onto the pistil of
another....I don't know if these are self-fertile...anyone else know? Jean
