[SHADEGARDENS] Another BOOK OF INTEREST

   Sandra Bond's book HOSTAS (1992 Ward Lock)
   has been out of print and hard to find. It has been reprinted
   along with its companion volumes in a paperback collection:

   THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO FOLIAGE PLANTING
   (1997, Ward Lock, 367pp, ISBN 0-7063-7581-5)
   contains four smaller books under one cover:

              HOSTAS by Sandra Bond
              ORNAMENTAL GRASSES, BAMBOOS, RUSHES & SEDGES
                             by Nigel J. Taylor
              HARDY FERNS by Michael Jefferson-Brown
              LARGE-LEAVED PERENNIALS by Myles Challis

   The new format includes all the HOSTAS text
   (except the old preface and index)
   and all the old fotos...I can only assume that
   somewhat similar statements could be made
   for the other books incorporated in this volume.
   There is a new single index serving all four sections.

   List price is at $19.95 but it is available at a reduction
   through www.amazon.com (on-line bookstore)
   so that with shipping the price remains just under $20US.
   An on-line friend also found a copy at a local book dealer
   in his area.

   I am delighted to have so much information so cheaply
   and  so available.
