Lobelia "Ruby Slippers"

I'd like to use red lobelia in a spot against a north facing wall. I
think I can provide the moisture it needs but was wondering if that would
be enough light. I presently have monarda there and while it will bloom,
the growth is floppier than I want.
Also, I was wondering if lobelia 'Ruby Slippers' will multiply fairly
well- I have more patience than $$$ and was willing to get just a few
plants and then divide to get the stand I want.

Was also looking at filipendula ulmaria for a nice white contrast. Will
it also thrive under the same conditions?
                        Thanks,
                        Mary, zone 6
