It sounds like you are having great success with astilbe perkeo if you have a
border of it.  Could you please give a little more information about where
you're growing it, soil, your zone, etc.?

Also, since we're talking about A. taq. Superba, I have been growing it for a
long time and it blooms faithfully and very large, but it flops over when at
its peak bloom.  I don't like that about it.  Anyone else have this problem
with theirs. Mine is grown in an area that is naturally damp, with a little
afternoon sun.  As someone else mentioned, mine also blooms late June, early
July.
