iris foetidissima

Does anyone know a source for Iris foetidissima 'Citrina'? I got some last
fall from Heronswood but it's not listed in the new on-line catalog. Does
anyone have experience with this plant or the species? I have never gotten
the species to bloom and don't quite understand since it's in moderate shade
(in NYC)and is supposed to do okay in deep shade. I like the foliage,
though. Why is this plant so much more common in the UK than here? Does it
do best with alkaline soil?
