Hi All:
My name is Pat Cochenour and I live in Reston, Va., about a half hour
from D.C. I belong to the Potomac Hosta Club and work part time at a
public garden here in Va. We have an extensive shade garden with a
lovely stream running through it. That's where I first became interested
in all the available plants that do well in the shade. My home garden is
about a third of an acre and more than half of that is in moderate to
heavy shade. Its been a challenge finding plants that can compete with
the trees for water. I have begun to take down a few of the Tulip
Poplars and I'm getting a bit more dappled light, which I find helps
tremendously.
I'm already enjoying your posts and will be adding mine soon.
Best,
Pat Cochenour Reston, Va. Zone 6/7
