Yes Carrie,
There is this super mean faire with a keen blade who has a thing about
blue poppies.......but that is in the Himalayan mountains. Around here we
only have deer.
This is one of those plants that dies after blooming. If you prevent it
from blooming the first year it will form offsets that will survive for the
following year, and often more. Pinch a few and leave a few and pretty soon
you have a stand going tended by nature ( deer and/or fairies)
