This is a general question for the trendy souls who are into gardening by
computer. I was given a book THE GARDENER'S COMPUTER COMPANION by a friend
who felt I could enhance my love affair with gardening -- I quote "now you
can garden all winter long!" I might mention that my friend neither gardens
nor owns a computer.
I keep picking up this book, glancing in, and propping it back up on top of
the growing stack of printouts - all the good ideas you guys and gals have
given me and that I want to have on hand for next spring when the action
starts. After all, most of my wish list doesn't take to being planned in, it
just needs to be planted - somewhere it will thrive - when it arrives.
Since I forget what is where, I do graph my gardens on paper, which tends to
get a bit tattered. I really use the graphs when I want to tuck in just one
more thing - sometimes when things go dormant, it's too easy to assume you
have a space that needs whatever you have in your hand at that moment. I
haven't learned enough about the computer yet to know if I can do graphs to
scale. Is this possible and wouldn't that be a dandy capability!
This may be a very basic (like dumb!) question, but if there is a kind person
out there who will set me straight, I will be grateful.
