Diane,
Could you explain your zone notation? I was wondering what hydrangeas you
grew because in my zone 5 garden it is hit or miss as to whether or not they
bloom. I watched a show on HGTV Saturday about a hydrangea "lady" and she
said she prunes back three inside older canes, and all other branches to the
first sign of green, about 8". Now, she is in zone 7, Georgia, so I am
trying to adapt to my situation to get more bloom. I talked to a gardener
about a week ago who puts a hill of compost on each of his hydrangeas in the
fall. I know Nikko Blue will only bloom here in a really mild winter.
