yellow and blue/aconitum


My experience with various aconita(ums?) in KS was that they simply can't take the heat, even in a shaded area with rich soil.
Delphiniums, on the other hand were less troublesome, given rich soil, excellent drainage, afternoon shade, secure stakes and tender care.  Most sucessful were the "English" strain, don't know what that really means.  The plants were from Arnold's Greenhouse in Coffeyville or somewhere close.  Arnold's got the seeds from England.  In comparison the belladonnas were wimps.
