Re: H.Purlpe Palace: Advise please


Connie,  given the heat your part of the country has been having, I'd
second the motion to shade the plant and wait until things cool down
a tad to move it.  I have dug and moved in mid summer, but only when
it's been damp and cloudy and not hideously hot.  You can use
anything to shade the plant that creates some shade...how's that for
clarity? :-)  Even a board or bit of wood shingle or a section of
wood lattice would help.    You can even cut a branch from an
evergreen and stick that in the soil on the south/west side of your
plant.  A little shade cloth  on four stakes would work, too.  The
idea of setting a large potted plant who likes sun on the west side
is good - could also put something on the south side of it.  It will
appreciate any relief from intense sun that you can give it.
