I also have been a customer of Roslyn, but I go there in person, and never
had difficulty with the plants.
However, when I was there last summer, the owner wasn't present, his wife was
sitting things out in the office "managing things" with another lady present.
It was a really hot sweltering day.
There appeared to be only ONE other person working on the nursery, and he had
his hands really full. He was the "Manager", but had no help visible, and was
running ragged making sure all was watered (we were in a big drought at the
time). He was friendly enough, but too busy, really.
No one could attend me except to point in the direction of the Trillium Shed,
which was one of the items I was after. Their ferns were all growing well in
another shed, and I bought a number of them, which are doing well.
I was suitably impressed with their plants and varieties, but not with the
attitude of the office, nor their lack of help.
I suspect that they hire low-grade help in the Spring to pack and ship, as
there are loads of immigrants on Long Island looking for work.
I had thought about ordering my mail, but this has changed my mind --
THANK YOU !
