I do not know if that will help, as a general rule I want to know what I a
dealing with before I apply any pesticides.  If the problem persists, digging
would be my first option and inspect the root system.  The plants do
transplant easily and I would not fear the digging as long as they are
watered for the next few weeks.

Some were around this mess I have a book on plant diases and I will look up
Cimicifuga and see if they are effected by any fungal problems.
