Used to order from Wayside a lot back in the late 70's - early 80's,
but got sick and tired of DOA plants, mislabeled plants and plants
that were not shipped (out of stock tho' order was sent in early
enough). Yes, they will refund or back order but who needs that
hassle, not to mention the loss of a season. Ordered the same rose
from them 4 times before they actually sent the right one and that
over a period of about 6 years. Also hated the way they packed their
bare root plants..maybe they've changed this.
Once I discovered that there were lots of other nurseries listing the
same plants at much more reasonable prices (someone has to pay for
that "free' glossy catalog), I simply pitch the catalogs...still come
in the mail with clockwork regularity tho' I have not placed an order
for well over 10 years. Catalogs are nice for pix, tho' they do tend
to be "creative" with color sometimes...
IMO, there are much more worthy sources out there today and many
online....
