I saw this on last year's national hosta tours in SC. Forget the name but
it is a parasitic weed. It really looks like yellow strings. It was at a
very fancy house with a staff of gardeners who just made a face when I
asked them about it. So it is not only in Texas! They had a sort of long
pergola with climbing roses growing at each post. Most roses had this
stuff growing over it.
