Hostas (you can get lots of fragrant ones), sweet woodruff, some lilies
bloom for us in shade, definitely Daphne odora (great scent early in the
year [February here] and it's not a big shrub.

Non fragrant, ferns, hellebores, huecheras, tiarellas, trycirtis, hostas,
ajuga, lysamachia, gosh, that's all I can think of at the moment....
