For all the hosta people (if they have gotten back from Peoria and
recovered <G>).
A freind of mine and I bought a H. 'Janet ' at a Lowes garden center
last year. We were able to divide it to get 3 plants right off the
bat.
Now .... From ther beginning , one division seemed more like Janet
was
supposed to look like than the others. A year later, that one is
almost
all white with occasional green streaking in the leaves. The other
divisions have grown well but have no variegation at all. They came
from
the same clump so is it possible that those divisions need to mature
more to show color or is it also possible that they will be
throwbacks
of some sort and never develop variegation?
Similar to that , I am seeing an 'Emerald Tiara" at a Lowes too.
The
plant is quite large but shows no signs of the variegation that
Emerald
Tiara should have. Any ideas as to what it's problem is or do they
just
have to mature for the color to show also?
Thanks for the ideas and help.
