One excellent one is called coir by some.  It's shredded coconut husk
fibers.  You can buy "bricks" of it that swell into about 20-30 quarts of
fibrous material when wet.  Garden centers are beginning to carry it, and
it's available at flower shows and by catalog.  Margaret
