1 hectare of average topsoil total weight 2,2 million kilo's, to increase 1%
organic matter in the topsoil 22000 kg peatmoss, an average 3 cu ft bale of
peatmoss weighs approx 20 kilo's, that would be 1100 bales or 2 semi trailer
loads at 10.000 dollars.

But why rock the boat? The average gross profit per bale of peatmoss is
$3.00 on retail level, so it is in the interest of producers and
merchandisers to perpetuate the myth.
