Dear Jennifer:

Hope you guys get relief soon. Couldn't imagine it. Yes these two
names are for the same plant.

Plants are twinning climbers with some being perennials. Often used
to cover an arch or wall or unsightly pole etc. Sap can sometimes cause
irritation so beware.

Most of the species I have heard of are only hardy to minus 50
degrees. The species M. laxa is also known as Chilean jasmine. This
plany is a good climber with oblong leaves and will flower in summer to
early autumn with fragrant white flowers usually 2" across. Can grow
10-15' high. This species will tolerate some exposure to 32 degrees.

Hope this helps and may you get days of steady light rain
