"kept" bee's are VERY susceptible to mite infestation. Many beekeepers
in our county have been wiped out completely. If the bee inspector
finds an infected hive, it must be disposed of immediately.
I had not heard that there were mite-resistant bees. Sure hope that's
true, as the bee population is now dangerously low.
