Gene--Longwood Garden is the finest public garden in America, maybe almost
anywhere. It is the equal of Kew and Edinburgh in many ways--and they
don't have the incredible fountains. Also in that area are the Mt. Cuba
Center for the Piedmont Flora and Winterthur--both of very high quality. I
would say that mid-May would be the best time to visit the region.
