Hello everyone - If you have grass or weeds in your garden, or and old rose bush that you can't seem to get rid of, consider this option.
Remove the top and bottom from a cardboard box, then place the box around the grass you want to kill, them spray it with systemic weed killer. The systemic killer, kills the roots from the top down to the roots, and within 24 hours, you can re-plant.
If the grass is tall, first cut it back to 6 inches before spraying, so as not to use too much spray. In some cases you may want to weedwack the grass, then let it grow back 4-6 inches, then spray.
Make sure that you don't adjust the nozzle of your sprayer too fine or it may over spray to other plants that you don't want to kill. Also - use a box at least a foot high to avoid over spraying.
This method is especially good to get rid of any vegetation that breaks at the ground when you try to pull it up - such as nut or cocoa grass - very effective.
I have also used this method to kill unwanted bushes growing in clumps with wanted scrubs or small trees. When I just cut or broke off the unwanted vegetation, it would just sprout up again several weeks later.
To kill the unwanted vegetation, I bent them over, wrapped paper around the top foliage, holding the paper around the trunk with one hand and sprayed - a day later they were dead as a doornail. Be sure you use a 24 hour systemic weed killer like round up - it'll say systemic on the can.
Zap - zap - zap - don't get in my way or I'll zap you - you mean old weed - zap - zap - zap again - now there.

Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide
upon, there is always someone to tell you are wrong. There
are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that
your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow
it to the end, requires some of the same courage which a soldier
needs. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
