Re: Heucheras

I just love the froth of tiny flowers on tall stems on my heucheras,
especially Palace Purple which glows when the sun is behind it.
Every garden composition needs a variety of sizes of flowers. It
gets rather boring having everything the same size.

I tend to prefer small flowers. I'm looking out an upstairs window
at a plum tree covered in bright yellow Clematis tangutica. There
are hundreds of flowers, and they are in proportion to the size of
the tree. The large-flowered hybrid clematis I grow have a couple of
giant flowers on a vine that's about as high as me, and look
beautiful but silly, because they are out of proportion to the size
of their plant.
