Yup. So it wasn't the one I forwarded the message about ... I
had heard from a couple friends there were 2 new ones floating
around. I am not an alarmist, but I do think caution is
warranted.

Actually it is standard email netiquette that no attachments be
send to a public list. On some lists people are bounced from
the list for doing it. I get attachments of all sorts many
times each day from co-workers, clients & friends, but I never
even open a message flagged as having attachments.
Unfortunately Explorer and a couple other packages seem to want
to automatically generate attachments and more unfortunately
people don't know how to turn them off.

Diana, thanks for mentioning this. I have limited time to read
everything I'd like to on a regular basis, but I have long had a
soft spot for saxifrages (and often sneak them into designs &
installations I do for clients). Your column was terrific. I
often wonder why these great little plants aren't more commonly
thought of.
