Keith, thanks for the info. Will your tree stay purple all summer? What I
am looking for is info on trees planted in hot-summer areas. When do the
leaves turn green, for those of you who have these trees? And how big do
the leaves get--same size as ordinary redbuds or smaller?
Clyde, I am not planning to buy 'Forest Pansy'--I agree with you that a
Tricolored Beech would be preferable. I am just trying to get an idea how
long this cultivar keeps its purple leaves in various parts of the
country. When does it become all green in Ipls? What about further south?
Do any southerners grow this tree?
