Hi Gary. I know they are slow growers. There is a weeping
copper beech at an Olmstead garden/park in Westerly, RI. That's
where I really fell in love with them. Then I found out when it
was planted. :) Bu-u-ut, doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed as
youngsters.

Gary? rare conifers as in chamaecyparis? I know I obsess about
these a bit, but I think they are one of the most wonderful &
versatile trees around and with the exception of a couple like
'hinoke', they are criminally underutilized. Therefore, they
are difficult to find. The some do quite well in part-shade and
many of the dwarf or low-growing varieties are phenomenal near
water.
Thanks so much for the info.
Jaime
