By big clump, I mean a clump of a size that an ordinary person could put
in their hosta garden right away without it looking dinky, as opposed to
tiny new TC plants. Sorry for using such an imprecise word. What's big to
me is obviously not big to you.

And I do recall somewhere seeing TC prices for ordinary hostas of a dollar
or less. Your Shady Oaks Invincibles for $1.50 in multiple quantities
sound very high to me-- maybe you have the high-priced catalog. I don't
have any TC catalogs this year; maybe someone who has all of them can jump
in with some price comparisons. All I can say is that I bought 3 'Winfield
Blue' TC plants this spring for $3.25 apiece from Q&Z.
