Hello Jennifer,
Sounds like a great opportunity for planting. For the back of the area how
about some Fairy Candles or Cimicifuga? Nice foliage and white plumes. One
of my favorites is the C. simplex White pearl. Only reaches around 3 feet
in height and has spicy honey scented flowers beginning in September here.
Shorter Monkshoods in blue make great companions in that back area. Won't
need many as they do fill out as they mature.
For mid area I like the sound of some shorter Digitalis in yellow that are
blooming now (cut back and they rebloom), Arum italicum, Hardy Begonia.
Autumn Fern and Japanese Painted Fern, Hellebores, Primula, Pulmonaria,
European Ginger, for up front and into the mid area a bit.
Hope you have a good time with this one...
