Pulmonarias freely seed around in my garden. This is interesting because
something very similar to this description has appeared near 'Sissinghurst
White' (I don't grow 'Mrs. Moon' and doubt that a lot of what is sold as
that cultivar are anything more than random seedlings). Leaves about twice
the size of anything else, and very large, densely spaced silver spots--no
bloom as yet. The seedlings are usually much more vigorous than the named
varieties, some of which take years to re-establish here (perhaps our
recent series of hot, dry summers has something to do with it). My
original stock of Pulmonaria saccharata came from my parents' old house; it
was growing all over the place there when we moved to the house in 1945.
Now I pull up any routine ones, and behead any but the best to prevent more
seeding. It's been an interesting experiment!
