Re: [SG] Pulmonarias/drought

Susan, hostas are NOT fast growing plants, in general. That is a myth.
They require little care, and look better every year, but it takes a
minimum of 3 years to get a mature looking plant and most are slower than
that. Relatively speaking, fast growers include 'Gold Edger' and 'Golden
Tiara' and of course lancifolia. Also montana. 'Snow Cap', 'Zounds', and
'Sagae' are slower than molasses.

Some gardeners here in Indiana are also starting to complain about the
lack of rain. I hope we get some soon or we will be in your
boat--grounded, on very dry ground, that is. Weather report keeps
predicting rain and nothing comes of it. We only got a third of an inch
last week. Supposedly it was going to rain this past Sunday, Monday, and
Tuesday; we didn't get a sprinkle. NOW they're saying Thursday and Friday.
I'm not holding my breath! But if it comes, I'll keep my fingers crossed
that you get your share of it.
