Wax begonias have the smaller flowers and leaves; tuberous grow from a
tuber (!) and have the big double flowers and angel-wing leaves. I guess
even the reflected light they get in shade outdoors is stronger than room
light indoors, thus the need for lights. I'm guessing; something I read
said to keep the plants under lights indoors. I do know that direct
sunlight will burn seedlings, but I don't know why a window wouldn't work
for older plants because I've never tried it.
