Re: Pachysandra

I don't find pachysandra to be a fast grower, but it will spread if it's
happy. When in competition with more vigorous spreaders, the pachysandra
losses out.

The patch next to my patio (half day of sun) sent runners under the slate
and came up in the cracks between stones 10 inches away.

The stuff gets thickest in sun, stays more spread out and open in shade.

It needs its water. I lost some (in the sun) last summer when we had
outdoor watering restrictions. But I wouldn't be without its evergreen
lushness that never gets higher than about 7 inches.

. . . while we are on the topic, i have had some for three years, while
it
looks quite hardy and healthy it has not spread, i thought it was a fast
grower.... it is in a shady area that gets maybe a few hours of afternoon
sun
