Hi Cindy -
The name Aeolian may have something to do with Aeolus, who is supposed to be
the Greek God of the Wind. (This according to my father, who served on the
USS Aeolus in the Navy). I did come up with this definition:

The harps do sound eerie, but I think the wind chimes probably don't sound
much like the harps. Two totally different instruments. The word Aeolian
probably just refers to "wind".
