Re: [SHADEGARDENS] Flowers

Hi Gene:

I do not know you, but I think I like your already! Thanks for the
input on the dead trees in my newly acquired mini-forest. We have
lived here for over 40 years and this ravine has been an annual
source for the Morel Mushrooms at Lilac blooming time. Apparently the
dead elms have encouraged their spawn and growth.

I appreciate your suggestions. I like the idea of not having to drag
all those dead logs out. I can use them for the pathways and for
planting. I already have quite a few varieties of fern and a source
for quite a number of Cinnamon ferns later this Spring form a friend.
I have plans to buy flowering trees and shrubs to scatter about down
in this damp shaded area, as well as the possibility of creating a
pond down there.

Any more suggestions will be carefully considered. Thank you for your
help
